The Sinquefield Charitable Foundation recently donated $500,000 to the Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation to help fund scholarships for the Help for Today – Hope for Tomorrow Kindergarten Program. This program offers 100, $2,000 scholarships to city of St. Louis residents desiring a Catholic school education for their kindergarten age student. The scholarship will follow the student through their eighth grade graduation.

On Saturday, April 19 the Columbia Civic Orchestra will premiere a new work titled Caustic Ride by Missouri composer Patrick Dell. The piece is part of the orchestra’s “New Directions” concert, which will include works by Sibelius and Sarasate. Music director Stefan Freund will conduct the concert, which features violinist Eva Szekely.
