Florida Expands Scholarship Tax Credit Program

June 2nd, 2009  |  Published in Client Posts

Florida Governor Charlie Christ signed legislation that will boost the state’s scholarship tax credit program. This announcement form the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice states that the program will now reach over 23,000 students due to expansion of the program allowing “S-Corporations” to contribute to the scholarship funds.

No scholarship tax credit programs exist in the state of Missouri, even for special needs students or students from poor families. Hopefully the continuing expansion of these programs in the country will cause Missouri to take another look at them as a means to help students from challenged backgrounds receive a quality education.
